Spark to Powder moves the Chronicle System's technological "slider" a little bit further up the timeline, to what might be termed the Gunpowder Age. This PDF book presents equipment and Benefits that reflect the advent of gunpowder and firearms technologies, but also examines some of its ramifications on a House’s Holdings and its Warfare Units as well.
The Black Powder chapter examines some of the cultural impact of blackpowder, as well as giving a brief overview of how the stuff is made and the kinds of benefits that came to those who learned to make it reliably.
Weapons of Smoke and Flame presents blackpowder weaponry and other equipment changes spurred by its introduction.
Musketeers & Cannoneers examines a variety of Qualities for those who are skilled with rearms, and Drawbacks for those who may have run afoul of them. It also examines the new Warfare Units (and changes to old ones) that come about as part of the Gunpowder Age’s changes.
Finally, Lands of Smoke and Flame provides a variety of changes to the Wealth Holdings from the Chronicle Systems’ Out of Strife, Prosperity supplement to reflect the kinds of opportunities for wealth and power provided by this burgeoning new industry. Additionally, it also presents a system for including Improvements to Defensive Holdings, reflecting the kinds of changes that the existence of cannon necessitated on defensive architecture.
